Community Clinics

Since 1985, CDMU has been working with its focus on distributing affordable medicines for the poor and marginalized sections of society. It planned to move ahead to reach its presence in the community with essential medicines as a pilot project and to promote the concept of rational use of medicine. CDMU began its first community clinic in the Kasba area of Kolkata, West Bengal for offering the community with generic medicines at an affordable price through the Janaushadhi scheme or Dawa India.

That outlet has a facility to provide basic treatment through a medical officer as well as medicines for the common people at affordable prices.

CDMU will later upscale the same initiatives in other areas including North Bengal. It has mission to

  • Create awareness among public regarding generic medicines
  • Create demand for generic medicines through medical practitioners
  • Create awareness through education and awareness program that high price need not be symptoms with high quality
  • Provide all commonly used medicines covering all the therapeutic groups
